Over the past week students have been little engineers busy working together to solve a real world problem. They were given the task to design a cell tower for Turkey Run State Park. Students had a fun, yet challenging time working in teams of four to design and create a scale model. Ask them what all the tower had to be able to do to pass the test!
Students enjoyed our first of hopefully many Flashlight Fridays. We read for almost an hour before taking a break and writing a story about visiting a museum. This was all done by flashlight! I am so proud of how the class handled themselves during this time.
This week as we tackle our reading skill of Main Idea and Detail we learned to rap and bake! Students know to look for titles, pictures, and repeated words to help them find the main idea of text. They also looked at ingredients and directions for a recipe to find out the title of the recipe, which was Dirt Pudding! It was a fun day of interactive learning!
